Suma vs OEM Mirrors

To enhance your safety and driving performance, Suma Mirrors use premium optical glass that creates the best wide-angle convex, effectively reducing blind spots and reflecting clear images.

Our mirrors are R1000, whereas others are R1400. (The smaller the R-number, the wider the view.)

If you compare Suma Mirrors with other mirrors, our mirrors have wider visibility and can see more objects in Suma Performance mirrors.

Suma Mirrors go through a proprietary SOGEL process that takes multiple steps/days to produce our signature, blue mirrors such that the mirrors themselves are clear and colorless.

The reason Suma Mirrors look blue is because they absorb all spectrum of the colors except the blue color that's pleasant to the eyes, effectively reducing glare (the yellow color spectrum, which causes the glare, is absorbed).

Other mirrors, in contrast, use the vacuum coating process such that the blue color is coated on the mirror itself (unlike ours, clear/colorless mirrors that only reflect blue color). Based on that, they are not truly anti-glare because the glare is still reflected to human eyes. Over time, the blue coating will eventually fade. The blue hue of SUMA mirrors do no fade and are truly anti-glare.

Fantastic product! Offers much better field of view compared to stock mirrors. I haven't tried the defroster yet, but the BSI works perfectly. The tint helps with the glare too. Very happy with the purchase. Great job, team Suma!

I love it. It helps to reduce glaring from the sun light and headlights from the back at night. There is no blind spot in regular to small roads in the city. If the lanes are much broader, cars that are in my ‘blind spots’ would be right next to my car. The defroster works well. Besides, even before turning on the defroster, the SUMA side mirrors look clear and clean in the rain, might be because of its hydrophobic effect. Although I found a small spot in my right SUMA side mirror, that looks like a blue water droplet, it is a very small minor defect. I would not mind it. I would love it if SUMA can introduce side mirrors for the new Honda Accord. Good job SUMA Performance.

A great upgrade. These were definitely a better choice than the Spoon Sports mirror that just attach with 3M tape. I do wish that the BSI indicator light was brighter or at leas as bright as OEM as it looks dim during daylight.

One of the best upgrades you can get. Definitely better than the stick on Spoon Sport mirrors by being a full replacement with the defroster and BSI. I do wish the BSI indicator was brighter as it is a bit dim compared to OEM.

Bought one for civic type r. plug and play, does the job. Not as premium as expected for the price, logo is larger than other brands, bsi led connector doesn't snap into backing like oem does and wires are too long, missing metal tab compared to oem. The glass doesn't come perfectly clean and easily scratched.

Use it on my civic 11th gen hatchback sport trim - very satisfied with the product. Blue lens on each side mirror help reduce the glare and did not impede nighttime viewing. The wide viewing angle of the mirror take me a day or 2 to adjust my mindset but nevertheless it is a very good addition in blindspot assistance especially if your car does not come with its feature built-in.

Build quality is nice, the mirror is crisp and clear. The wide angle makes it very easy to spot other vehicles on the road. Only thing it's missing is the slot for the metal anti vibration tab that exists on the factory mirrors. There is slight vibration when driving but not too noticeable. Maybe something to add on newer iterations of the mirrors.

Love these mirrors! The original mirrors are small and hard to see out of IMO, but the Suma mirrors really don’t feel like they are small with the wide angle that they portray. Admittedly, the mirrors are a little hard to see at night (thanks to my vision being bad and window tint), but I’d definitely recommend them to anyone who has an 11th generation civic. The blind spot and defroster work flawlessly and installation was a breeze. Thanks Suma performance!
